Week 12 Edina, Minnesota - COMMING HOME!!!!

Family and Friends!!

....I’m sorry I didn't get an email out last week! It was such a busy day and I wish I could say today was any different! but hey...it’s all good!

This week has been CRAZY busy!!

I feel like this was the week of MEETINGS!! cause I swear we had some type of meeting each day!

Monday was zone conference

Tuesday was pday and we had zone pday

Wednesday we had our interviews with president

Thursday we met with bishop

Friday was weekly planning

Saturday was my exit interview with president

Sunday was church!

See, we had a ton of meetings!! haha!! but we did find some time to do missionary work! haha!!!

We had a fun lesson with T&B about families and how important they are.  It made me feel so blessed to have had the bestest ward families while on my mission! I finally understand that term! haha!!

We had a fun Vday! we got to see all of our favorite people!! I never thought there would be so many people to visit on Vday......I kept thinking about last Vday and how me and my companion tracted all night and people were on so happy with us! haha!!

On Sunday we went to my last mission fireside! it was great!!! The spirit was so strong and the people who spoke did a great job...on girl talked about how after she made a mistake she though she would never be good enough again and so from that point on she had a really crazy life and made some really unsmart choices....and then she met the sisters! and learned about the power of the Atonement.  I feel so blessed to have the Knowledge that we have never gone to far  and that there is always forgiveness.

I really don't know what to say, I have so much going through my head...and I cannot find the words to express my feelings.  I feel so blessed to have been able to serve a mission.  It has been one of the hardest, yet the MOST rewarding things in my life thus far. My heart has been changed and I have seen how important the gospel really is in my life! I'm so grateful for the many people Heavenly Father has put into my life: the members, my investigators, and my companions! Of course I couldn't have done it without all of you and your love, prayers and support!! Thanks for all yall have done for me! it means so much to me!!

I know that Jesus is the Christ! Because of Him we can overcome our mistakes and return to live with our Father in Heaven.  I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and will help us come closer to Christ.  In it we learn more about His plan for us and how we can gain Eternal Life.  I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.  He restored Christ church back on the earth today.  I know that we have a living prophet President Monson, who leads and guides our church.

I will see yall soon!!

Week 11 Edina, Minnesota - One More Week

No mail this week, so I thought I would share these two pictures of Sister Young Sister Hulet before and after their sickness. They are doing great and back on their feet, they have been very busy and Randi is very excited for the 18th to roll-around as she returns home. I'm not sure who's more excited about it Randi or the family? The Hulet family is truly grateful for all the blessings that the Lord has blessed the entire family with as Randi has been a valiant servant of the Lord. Hopefully she will have her sign off email next week, I have my fingers crossed. Thank you all for all the love and support you have shown the family and especially Randi.

2 weeks to go!
Family and friends!!

It has been long, crazy week, and I’m super glad it’s Monday again and we can have a fresh start! haha!!!

Sorry that my letters have been short but we have had Zero time that past couple weeks...and again this week we have like no time....things have been great here, the work is moving right along.

I love serving with sister young...she is awesome and we are a lot alike....we joke that we were put together so president would have some comedy in the mission...because we are LOUD and CRAZY!!! I know what you are thinking....No not sister Hulet, but what can I say....I’m LOUD and CRAZY....and that’s just how its gunna be! haha!!

So, we were sick this week...it sucked! I was so mad cause we couldn't go and work...I was like, why couldn't I have been sick like in 2 weeks! When I was home!!! But its whatever....

we also helped throw a birthday party for our recent convert...her daughter was in charge all we did was take her mom out teaching with us and then when we come back all her friends from the ward and her 8 kids were there to surprise her! It was so cute!!

Fun story this week we met with a less active, "mom" she is from South America and has the cutest accent! It took me forever to understand her but I can do ok now  :) she LOVES to feed us and this week we ate like her.....with our hands!!! It was something I’ve never done before and the whole time we were eating I thought if only President saw this....what would he say?? haha!! It was fun...we had rice and salt-water curry...it was pretty good! That’s about it this week.....sorry its short, maybe next week will be longer! oh, ps! I might not email next Monday. It will be next Tuesday....we have zone conference on Monday and so our pday will be on Tuesday :)

Week 8 Edina, Minnesota

Family and Friends!

It was been a long week, but that is what makes the mission awesome!!! I mean it would be so boring without drama!! So it’s all good!

This week was our ward conference and let me tell you, it was so spiritual! I loved it!! Our stake president spoke in sacrament meeting and it was so powerful!! He talked a lot about the Atonement....and how we don't have to be perfect...we as humans make mistakes but that is totally okay...it was just what I needed to hear! And then in RS, we had our stake rs president speak...and oh my word, she is amazing!!! Words cannot express how spiritual and uplifting it was!!! As I sat there, I was able to reflect on how I got here on a mission and how far I have come....it was really awesome, I wish yall could have been there.  Then to top it all off, we went to a missionary fireside and guess what!?! A family from my last area was there!!! They sat by us and we got to catch up!! It was so good to see them!! I have missed them so much! crazy how much like family people out her can become.

I hate to do this, but it’s been a crazy morning and we have plans to go out with a member and an investigator, so I don't have much time....sorry! I promise I will write more next week :)

One question though...............am I really that white?!?

Week 7 Edina, Minnesota

Family and Friends!!

It has been a great week! I don't even know where to begin!  I have been so blessed to have been able to work some of the most AMAZING people in Minnesota!  This week I have felt the spirit so strong as we have been in lessons with people who are so prepared to accept the gospel is nuts! Heavenly Father has been leading people to the church and I’m so humbled that I’m the one who they get to work with! it’s so crazy cool! sorry, I just cannot get over it!
so, Tuesday I took Sister Noe to the mission home to drop her off and pick of up "rent-a-companion" for the day...here was the thing though, my "rent-a-companion" had some car troubles (don't worry, everything was fine, they just drove off the road) so I went to the mission office and asked if there was anything I could do to help them cause I felt really weird hanging out at the mission home with all the missionaries that were going home.....when my "rent-a-companion" came President Forbes came and got me and said that we were going to be having lunch with them and all the other missionaries that where leaving...not gunna lie, it was kinda awkward but the lunch was good! haha!!

Then we came back to Edina and went to work! my "rent-a-companion" was Sister Hunt! she has been out for 6 months and was super quite, but when she did talk, she always had something powerful to say! it was fun to work with her for the day...and then on Wednesday I got my companion for the transfer! Her name is Sister Young.  She is from Sandy, Ut and has been out for 3 months!! CRAZY!! We have had a lot of fun together so far! so I think this transfer will be a PARTY!
We have had some great lessons this week! The spirit has been so strong in all our lessons, I feel like a true sister missionary cause I have shed a tear in like every one! We met with our date set this week and she is so ready for baptism!! We talked about the Word of Wisdom this week and at first she didn't know about it, for the first time I felt like this might put a stop to her progress, however, by the end of our lesson she committed to live it! She said that if this is what Heavenly Father was asking her to do then she would do it! It was awesome!! I love her faith!! She has such a strong faith in Christ!! You can feel it each time you walk into her house! I love it!!

We also met with your member referral this week! She is on fire!! again! her faith is amazing!! Honestly in every lesson we have had with her, she will share such a strong testimony and the spirit is always so thick!!! Teaching her as been AWESOME!! I swear she teaches me more than I could ever teach her because she always has something so brilliant to say!
Well, thanks for all the love and support!! I hope yall have a great week! Sister Young and I at our best!

Week 6 Edina, Minnesota

Family and Friends!!

Happy New Year! I cannot believe that it's 2015!!! Whenever I would think of 2015 in the past I would think that it’s the year my brother would be graduating and it really freaks me out that it’s here!!! scary stuff!!

Oh, man...it’s been a great COLD week! packed full of adventures!

Today was transfer Monday and I already knew that I would be getting a new companion because sister noe goes home this week, my new companion is Sister Young and I don't really know who she is...so more details to come :)

We had a really cool miracle this week! a couple weeks ago we got a referral from the mission home for a lady, but we didn't have an apartment number or a phone number...so we knocked on a bunch of the doors in the building but couldn't find her.....and so we stuck sticky-notes on all the exit doors for her to call us...nothing happened....then this week we got a text from our bishop saying that a lady called him and wanted to meet with us ASAP!! Come to find out....it was the same lady!!! How cool!!!! She is so awesome! She is going to get baptized this month and is just on fire! I love how Heavenly Father puts people into our path who are ready to hear about the gospel!!

We had another boss lesson with a lady who was a member referral...brother S was at the post office and starting talking to the Lady in front of him..and during the conversation he invited her to the ward Christmas party....well she totally came!! like a week after the Christmas party, we were able to meet with her...she told us that she was looking for something different in a Church and was really struggling.....when we taught her about the Restoration she loved it and I think I wrote about last week, but this week we talked about the Plan of Salvation! it was so awesome!! We did it in two lessons and when we saw her the 2nd time she told us that she had been talking to her oldest son about what we had been sharing with her!! she told us that our lessons had been answering all the questions that she has had!!! she said that she felt for the first time that she could drink the water of the gospel! it was so awesome!!!

So funny story! We ran  out of miles this month....and I gave my bike away in my last area.....so, we had a problem...we called the Elders and guess what! I used Elder Thomas's bike for a couple of days...don't worry, we biked the COLDEST days in December! haha!! we would take the bus into Minneapolis and then bike around all day..it was for sure a great adventure! The best part was the we missed our bus home Tuesday night and had to wait at the bus stop for an hour until the next one came....not gunna lie, it was really cold! but I have all my fingers and toes, so its all good!

during our biking days we would try to have our lessons with people at the church so we wouldn't have to spend a lot of time biking from one place to another and so we were at the church and our appointment canceled so we were getting ready to leave when the Spanish elders came.....they asked us whose bikes where at the church.....as one looked like Elder Thomas's bike but the other was way to girly for an Elder to ride and they were really confused.....we told them that that bike was Elder Thomas's but that I was riding it...and the girly one was Sister Noe's...they thought it was so funny!

We had a happy new year...we were asleep by 10:30! life of a missionary! and on New year's day, we had a zone pday....we played 3 step and basketball...and just had fun with all the missionaries in our stake....it was a party!

so me and sister noe have this problem..we have a hard time getting to things on time.  we have been late to our lessons with the girls (they are a family of 4 sisters we are teaching...their mom is a less active) like every time! so, we made them a deal, if we were late to our lessons, we would do a push up for every minute we were late....this week I had 18 push ups..........haha!!

well, sorry its short today...I hope yall have a great week!! talk to you soon!!
