Family and Friends!!
Happy New Year! I cannot believe that it's 2015!!! Whenever
I would think of 2015 in the past I would think that it’s the year my brother
would be graduating and it really freaks me out that it’s here!!! scary
stuff!!
Oh, man...it’s been a great COLD week! packed full of
adventures!
Today was transfer Monday and I already knew that I would be
getting a new companion because sister noe goes home this week, my new
companion is Sister Young and I don't really know who she is...so more details
to come :)
We had a really cool
miracle this week! a couple weeks ago we got a referral from the mission home
for a lady, but we didn't have an apartment number or a phone number...so we
knocked on a bunch of the doors in the building but couldn't find her.....and
so we stuck sticky-notes on all the exit doors for her to call us...nothing
happened....then this week we got a text from our bishop saying that a lady
called him and wanted to meet with us ASAP!! Come to find out....it was the
same lady!!! How cool!!!! She is so awesome! She is going to get baptized this
month and is just on fire! I love how Heavenly Father puts people into our path
who are ready to hear about the gospel!!
We had another boss lesson with a lady who was a member
referral...brother S was at the post office and starting talking to the
Lady in front of him..and during the conversation he invited her to
the ward Christmas party....well she totally came!! like a week after the
Christmas party, we were able to meet with her...she told us that she was
looking for something different in a Church and was really struggling.....when
we taught her about the Restoration she loved it and I think I wrote about last
week, but this week we talked about the Plan of Salvation! it was so awesome!!
We did it in two lessons and when we saw her the 2nd time she told us that she
had been talking to her oldest son about what we had been sharing with her!!
she told us that our lessons had been answering all the questions that she has
had!!! she said that she felt for the first time that she could drink the water
of the gospel! it was so awesome!!!
So funny story! We ran out of miles this month....and
I gave my bike away in my last area.....so, we had a problem...we called the
Elders and guess what! I used Elder Thomas's bike for a couple of days...don't
worry, we biked the COLDEST days in December! haha!! we would take the bus
into Minneapolis and then bike around all day..it was for sure a great
adventure! The best part was the we missed our bus home Tuesday night and had
to wait at the bus stop for an hour until the next one came....not gunna lie,
it was really cold! but I have all my fingers and toes, so its all good!
during our biking days we would try to have our lessons with
people at the church so we wouldn't have to spend a lot of time biking from one
place to another and so we were at the church and our appointment canceled so
we were getting ready to leave when the Spanish elders came.....they asked us
whose bikes where at the church.....as one looked like Elder Thomas's bike but
the other was way to girly for an Elder to ride and they were really
confused.....we told them that that bike was Elder Thomas's but that I was
riding it...and the girly one was Sister Noe's...they thought it was so
funny!
We had a happy new year...we were asleep by 10:30! life of a
missionary! and on New year's day, we had a zone pday....we played 3 step and
basketball...and just had fun with all the missionaries in our stake....it was
a party!
so me and sister noe have this problem..we have a hard time
getting to things on time. we have been late to our lessons with the
girls (they are a family of 4 sisters we are teaching...their mom is a less
active) like every time! so, we made them a deal, if we were late to our
lessons, we would do a push up for every minute we were late....this week I had
18 push ups..........haha!!
well, sorry its short today...I hope yall have a great
week!! talk to you soon!!
