Week 12 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Friends and Family!!!

It has been some REALLY rainy days in Minnesota!! how crap! I never knew so much water could come out of the sky at one time!!! it has been crazy and word on the street is that its not gunna stop until later this week! Sister Reber and I are kinda freaking out in our minds cause it’s the end of the month and we are low on miles again, go figure! hahahaha!!! you think that I could budget miles like I do money but it’s not working out to well!!! haha! Well, I'm happy to report that Sister Reber and I are together for another transfer...I hope that Sister Reber will be able to handle me for another 6 weeks...yes I have been praying for her!  Besides the rain, it has been a good week...and for the record, I like the rain, when I don't have to you know..be outside in it all the day long!

The highlight of the week was our trip to the temple! it was so good.   The spirit that is at the temple is like no other! I just LOVE IT!  it was fun to be there with a big group of missionaries.  Like over half the people there were missionaries! I got to catch up with some of my friends from the MTC, so that was really cool.  It was fun to hear how they have changed and all the cool experiences they have had.  I think that is one thing that I have come to love about my mission...is the personal change that happens to YOU!  I have learned far more then I think others have learned from me...its very humbling to think about it!

Sister Reber and I have been teaching a lot, which is so awesome! Its really cool to see how much the area has grown since I have been here! We have been more busy then ever! Our investigators are moving right along and it’s fun to see how they are beginning to make changes to bring their lives closer to Christ.  I love watching people change, it’s so coolbeans! Our investigator Sister W is so sweet.  We were talking to her on Thursday after our lesson and she was telling us how grateful she was that she let us in her door all those weeks ago because she loves the "energy" that we bring.  It was funny to hear what her thoughts were about that day. She told us that she had no idea why she was letting us in her home, but she just felt like she should..she then said that it was the best thing she did.  it was so humbling to then hear her say over and over " you girls, just don't know what you have done for me"  At that moment, I felt like I was in the right spot at the right time.  Sister W is so sweet and I feel so blessed to be serving her!

Sister K is doing great too.  We met with her this week and put together a baptism calendar.  She is get these big eyes whenever we talk about her baptism, it makes Sister Reber and I so excited! I cannot wait for her baptism, that will be such a great day for everyone, because she has been investigating for so long! But it just goes to show that everything happens in Heavenly Fathers time...we just need to make sure that we are setting a good example and never giving up on people.  She talks about all the people that have come teaching with the missionaries over the years and how nice they have all been, it was so fun when they all come up to her at church at welcomed her there..it made all the difference! I know that member missionary work is the key! the example of the members I've met out here make me want to do better when I get home :)

So, Monday was district pday and it was a lot of fun.  We all met at the church and played volleyball and ultimate Frisbee...it was so much fun!!! I love to play Frisbee! it was so funny to watch the Elders get into it and even funnier to watch them try and get their Frisbees out of the trees!!! Volleyball was fun too! Not gunna lie, I'm getting better at that sport and so St. George better watch out when I get home :)

So, Sister Reber and I have this new pet! its a pink peep named weeeellll, we have not got a name for him yet so....I we will just call him who shall not be named at this time..but I have a picture of him! and the other picture is of me and my wand that I told yall about last week..if you don't remember: last week I found my wand! its 12 inches and made of dragon-heart string!!! and the last picture is of me with blue lips..Sister Rebers family has a thing where each year at easter they get blue candy eggs and use it as lip-stick and take pictures!!! No worries mom, Sister Reber wouldn't let me knock doors with it on..But I really wanted too!

Week 11 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Friends and Family!!!

I hope everyone had an awesome RREEAASSTER!! Mine was great! We spent Easter with the B family and it was a party.  We helped Sister B make all the food and it was sooooo good..I had to laugh cause we were making "cheesy hash browns" but they were really "funeral potatoes"! Of course this made me laugh and we had to talk about how every good Mormon has their own special way make them and they all somehow taste different.  Sister B's were really good and I’m gunna have to use her little trick with I get home to Jack-up my moms recipe!! We also had orange-glazed ham and veggies!! It was so good!! But the best part was the cake!! So, story about the cakes...Sister B wanted to make a fluffy Easter-bunny cake.  It had cream-cheese frosting with coconut on the outside.  However, her husband doesn’t like coconut and was very vocal about it, so she said that she would make him a "poop-bunny" cake! So we made just that! I thought she was just gunna stop with a brown-bunny..she put coco powder with the cream-cheese frosting to make it brown, but no, we made brown poop balls to put by the bunny out of peanut butter chips and chocolate frosting!! it was so funny!! No, worries I took pictures and will for sure send them!

We had a super spiritual week..our lessons were really intents this week cause they were packed with the spirit! Our first lesson was with Sister K and it was awesome....to be honest, I don't remember all that was said in the lesson or even what we talked about, but I remember the spirit that was there and it was powerful!!! it makes be tired to even think about it....By the end of the lesson we had a baptism date! It was so totally cool!! Who would have thought that she would be ready to get baptized!!! She also came to church on Sunday and every one was freaking out...Sister K has been investigating the church off and on for like the past 6ish years!!! She had never came to church before and everyone just kinda thought she was never gunna really commit to anything! So, its a really big deal...it just goes to show that no effort is ever wasted.  Sister K said that the experience that she had from before where important to making the choice to be baptized now.  It is just so totally wicked!

We also had a really neat lesson on Thursday night with our investigator Sister W.  The spirit was again super powerful as we talked about the Atonement and repentance.  Our joint teacher Sister K shared her testimony and that totally brought the spirit hard-core!!! It was so funny to see how she reacted! She looked kinda nervous, but when we told her that the feeling she was feeling was the holy ghost and that he was here to testify that what was being said was true, she like it and thought it was totally cool.  But you could tell that it kinda overwhelmed her:) After that lesson we were kinda sad cause our lesson after canceled, but I think that it was because Heavenly Father need us somewhere else.  We walked with our joint teacher back to her car..when we started talking..she really needed someone to talk to and it was cool to see how her and I totally could understand each other....i know that heavenly father puts us where he needs us so we can help his children.  It was coolbeans!

So I have to have a serious NERD moment!! Sister Reber and I were walking the other day and I found my wizard wand!!!! Its 12 inches and made out of dragon-heart string!!! it’s just perfect and the Harry Potter movies are so true, the wand totally picks you, I’ve experienced this and KNOW that it is true!!!  hahahaha! I don't have a picture of it, but stay tuned cause i'm sure that one will be coming soon! No worries mom, I leave it at home when we go to lessons :) hahaha!!

So, really coolbeans! as i'm typing this letter to yall, we totally got a mormon.org referral!! I will have to let yall know how that goes next week! I totally forgot to tell yall the other week! so, Sister Reber and I were walking to an appointment a few weeks ago and we found $5 frozen to the ground!!! Who knows how long that was under all the snow, but its cool to see what kinds of things are found were all the snow was piled up all winter! The weather has been great the last couple of days..yesturday we were able to walk around all day without our jackets!! it felt so nice to be able to feel heat when you stepped into the sun! I hope that the good weather stays, i'm tired of blinding people with my white legs as we walk down the street!!!  PS! if you have not seen the Because of Him video on mormon.org you should go and watch it..it’s so good!!! www.mormon.org/becauseofhim

Well, I don't really know what more to write, I hope yall have a good week!! Thanks for all the love and support!!

Week 10 Prior Lake, Minnesota

this coolbeans bridge we found in the park

enjoying the great weather!

this was in someone’s side window thing that was by their garage!!!
We had to have a pic with it!!

Friends and Family!!!

It has been a busy week in Prior Lake, MN!! Crazy that it’s already Pday yet again!!! I hope that I can catch my breath before this week starts!! it’s gunna be another busy one with stuff planed every day!!  Sister Reber and I are shocked as we look at the progress that we have seen in the past couple of weeks!!! I know that heavenly father has blessed us and sent people for us to teach that are ready to accept and learn about the gospel...I can truly see how that the lord does his own work and uses us as the means to get that work done...no matter how imperfect we are!!!

So, the weather this last week was AWESOME!! we were able to shed our leggings and jackets and get some much needed sun...I’m a little green with jealous rage at the moment seeing that sister Reber was able to get some color, and I’m still as white as before!! It may or may not have caused for some companionship tension, but we are talking it out and should be able to make amends!!  However, Mother Nature likes to remind me that I’m living in Minnesota at the moment and this week is going to be cold!! So it’s back to the leggings and jackets for another week of wind and possibility some rain :(  But the work must still go on!!

We had a serious miracle this week!! Sister K has been investigating the church for YEARS and has never come to church...however we made some progress this week and she came to Relief society!! It was awesome!!!! She is making great progress and it has been coolbeans to watch has the spirit has touched her heart, it makes me smile whenever I think about it! I love to hear her talk about all she learns in the book of Mormon! She reads it every day and you can see the light that has entered her life from it! That book is awesome! The book of Mormon is truly the way that we can come to know if the church is true or not..it’s the foundation and I know that as she continues to build on it, she will come to know this for herself, just as I have.

We were able to take our investigator, Sister W, to see the Minnesota Mormon choral preform the Lamb of God...it was AMAZING!! Words cannot describe the feel that was there!! The spirit was so strong and the music was unreal..they did a great job! For those who don’t know: the Lamb of God is a collection of songs that tell the events of the last week of the Savior's life. It’s one of the only things we can listen to that is not a hymn!  Sister W loved it and the hole way home she kept going on and on about it and the "energy" that she felt there..it was really neat to see how it had impacted her.

So, on Sunday we had dinner with the C family and every year they build a Lego-temple during general conference..this year they build the Idaho falls temple...the best part was when their 3 year old son was showing us this..he was telling us what everything was and when he got to the top of the temple he said, "this is magic Moroni!"  it was so cute...they had a yellow Lego-guy with a trumpet at the top..we laughed and laughed it was so funny!

This week we were also able to do some service with Sister F..we is making a quilt for her step-daughter who is getting married in a couple of week, and so we went over and helped her iron all the strips and lay all the pieces out..it looked so cool!!! We also had ice cream and she likes to up cinnamon and sugar on top of vanilla..at first I didn't know how it would taste, but to my surprise it was pretty good....yall should try it!  But speaking of food! this week we ate more thai food! it was quite the experience!!! I have discovered that I’m not a big fan!! AT ALL!!! we had thai food two days in a row...on Friday we at pad-thai and it was not bad...not gunna lie, it was ok..not something I would want to have again, but it was ok..I was able to eat it and not think I was gunna die..however, on Saturday..it was a different story! Oh man, it was the LONGEST hour of my life....I kept looking over at sister Reber freaking out cause I just didn't know how in the world I was gunna eat the food..the lady we ate with seemed to just keep piling more and MORE on my plate...it was not good! and then she sent us home food...when we got to the car I told Sister Reber that she was CRAZY if she thought I was gunna eat anymore! I’m so grateful for the Atonement..yet again I’ve come to know that it's true!!!

Well, I really don't know what more to say! I’m grateful for all the love and support yall show me!! I hope yall have a great week!!!

Week 9 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Friends and family!!

What a week it has been!! I feel like I was just sitting at the computer writing you last week! ha! funny how weeks can go by so fast! This week has been great! My testimony continues to be strengthened and increased each and every day!  We had our Zone training this week and it was really awesome.  Our zone leaders did their training on how we can use the book of Mormon to answer the everyday issues that people have.  It was really cool as we practiced this to see that it totally dose work.  One of the biggest objections that we face is that we believe that God still speaks to us through a living prophet.  As I studied the into page to the book of Mormon I loved what was stated in the last two paragraphs: it talks about as we read, ponder and pray we can come to know of the truthfulness of the book as well as the knowledge that Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God...how powerful is this!! As we come to know this then, we also know that since the time of Joseph Smith there has been a living prophet on the earth!! How coolbeans is this!! I know that it’s true and that the Book of Mormon is true! It is such a great book! I love it!!

We also taught some great lessons this week to our awesome investigators!! Heavenly Father has blessed Sister Reber and I with some amazing people to work with and to learn from! one lesson we had was with Sister M.  We were teaching the plan of salvation and we were telling her about the pre-earth life.  We testified to her that she was a daughter of God and that he loved her!! Her face lite up!!! She told us that she didn't know that before!! We totally share with her an idea that she had never heard before!!! it was crazy the feeling that came in the room! the spirit was there and totally testified to all of us that we truly are sons and daughters of a Loving Heavenly Father and that he loves each of us!

We also taught Sister K...we were talking about the book of Mormon and she was telling us about what she had been reading over the past week...it was cool to see how much she was learning and understanding..she told us about how before when she was investigating the church she would read and think that the book had to of been made up because it was so predictable..she then said that as she had been reading as of late, she felt that it was predictable because it was true..she said that as she has been reading, she is coming to think that the book is really from God and that it is true! BIG STEPS!! it was awesome to hear all that she is understands and the progress she is making!! Heavenly Father has totally prepared her to hear our message at THIS time.  Teaching her has totally been such a cool experience because I have learned so much from her.  She has taught me that timing is key when it comes to learning truth...heavenly father teaches us when we are ready and he will revel info as we diligently read, ponder and pray! We also did some service for sister K this week.  she has horse and we helped her brush them....this was something I had NEVER done before...I’m not really the animal type and I’m not gunna lie the hole time I kept thinking that the horse was gunna try to eat me! It didn't and I was able to learn how to brush the horse and clean its feet! Who would have thought that horses have so much HAIR!! by the time we were done you could have made like 3 sweaters out of the hair that covered the ground and ourselves!!!

General Conference was so awesome! I love the spirit of the meetings!! I love hearing the talks and I’m not gunna lie, I’m super excited to read them again! I think that is when I get the most out of conference is when I get the talks in my hand and I’ll be able to study them!  I loved President Monson's talk on Charity and how we all need to speak kind words to each other! I also love Elder Christofferson's talk on the Resurrection..it was super powerful and totally fitting this time of year! I also loved Elder Ballard's talk!! it was so RM like!! it makes me laugh to hear from past companions and others who have just gone home because they totally apply missionary talk to dating and what not and so hearing his talk about following up make me laugh cause it was so how RM's talk and think about things!! But ya! conference was great!!

So, it totally snowed again this week!! like a couple inches of snow...it’s like APRIL!!! What world do I live in where it snows in April...oh that’s right! I’m in Minnesota where it snows!! hahah you would think that I was used to it!!!

Well, thanks for all the love and support!! I love and miss you all!!!
