Week 38 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Family and Friends!!

So crazy!! this week has been great!

On Saturday we met with sister W. She is just so awesome!! as we walked into her house that night, I felt an overwhelming wave of the spirit! it was so crazy!!! it is so amazing to me how much the gospel has changed her life.  We talked about where she was read in the book of Mormon....and I loved how excited she was about all she had learned and understanding.  it was so cool! She just makes me smile every time I go over to her home..she is amazing!

On Friday, we had dinner with sister K and her daughter B. That was a lot of fun...I love how much B has opened up to us and I totally herself around us..she is a lot of fun and totally reminds me of when I was her age...which was not that long ago, but still.  B has been reading the book of Mormon with her mom!! Totally cool! and also been thinking about baptism! Totally awesome!!

Last night we went to a president's fireside and a member of the 70 was there! it was so awesome!! Brother B came with us and it was just perfect for him!! The member of the 70 talked about how the gospel is for everyone and no one is not good enough or will on fit in...and the hole time I was like, dang! that is so true!!! I think that it really helped Brother B and I’m so excited to talk about it with him this week....I think it was just what he needed to hear to help him progress..

We had our first district meeting this week with our new district leader..it was good....I really like his training...he did more of a role play training and it was fun to do more than just sit and listen to him talk...I think it helped me to better understand the new mission focus of working more with the less active members. We are planning on having a district pday on Friday so I’m really looking forward to getting to know the new members of the district better.

I cannot believe that Halloween is this week! Where has October gone!?! I'm really excited for Halloween this year cause we are going to dress up...you know as much as we can as missionaries! haha!!

Our ward is having a party on Saturday and instead of doing a truck-or-treat they decorate doors in the church and have the kids trick-or-treat and us and the elders have got roped into decorating a door...so this should be fun :)

Saturday afternoon we went to 2 baptisms! It was fun! I love going to baptisms!! They are the best! I love the spirit that is present at baptisms...and I also love to think about when I was baptized and the convent I made and how it was blessed my life...and how it’s going to bless the lives of the person getting baptized...it’s so cool! I also love that baptism is just the beginning of our path back to live with our Heavenly Father again...it’s so awesome!

So this week as short! I hope yall have a good week!!

Week 37 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Family and Friends!!

It has been a good week! full of lots of good moments and spiritual times! It’s just so great!

So, update on last week’s transfer, I’m staying in prior Lake and have a new companion, her name is sister Anderson...she is so sweet! I swear to you that she doesn't have a mean bone in her body!  It’s been fun to get to know her better,  and I’m looking forward to learning from her. She was sister Peads companion before she came to prior lake, so that is kinda crazy! she is really tall and makes me look even shorted than I really am, it’s really funny to see us walk around together.

This week has been good though, we have been able to just do our thing...I’ve been so tired every night when we have came home, so I think that we have been working hard! haha!! We met with Beth on Sunday evening. We went over the word of wisdom and it went great. Beth has opened up so much to us over the past month, we are able to just talk about it all and she is not so shy anymore, which is awesome! She is very smart and is able to feel the spirit in a way I wish I could have at her age. We asked her what difference she has seen in her mom since she was baptized in July, and she totally had lots to say. One that stuck out to me was that Sister K is more happy and bright! I thought it was awesome that Beth totally picked up on that! it was really cool! I just love Beth!! she is so great! I'm super excited that I get to stay in Prior Lake and work with her! its awesome!

so, I have some moments this week....lets just say that I’m totally the queen of dignity!

#1- we were walking around and talking to people when we saw this cute little old lady in her garage.  We started talking to her and I asked her how she has been able to find peace in this crazy world full of destruction? and she replied that its so crazy how much construction is happening in her neighborhood and she thinks they are finished for the year, but it will start again next spring...it was so hard for me to not laugh!

#2-we were eating our dinner in our car on Saturday night in a gas station parking lot cause the family that had signed up to feed us had sick kids.  I was playing with the steering wheel and totally honked the horn, and here was a guy totally siting at a table right in front of our car! it was really embarrassing..and then I had to go and say sorry!! I’m sure my face was fire-truck red! don't worry!!

One of the best parts of the week was that our recent convert Travis totally got to pass the sacrament this week!! it was so cool! he did such a good job! He looked so happy and proud of himself! it was so cute!! his mom, sister s was so happy about it, she was crying during the hole sacrament! it was really cute!!

we have been able to go to young men, young women's the past couple week to help the youth get ready for missionary week, last week we helped them with their teaching skills because this week they are going to be going and teaching people for their activity...they have been asked to talk to their nonmember friends and ask if they could practice teaching them! it’s so cool!! so, that has been a lot of fun....i really like hanging out with the youth cause it makes me feel like a normal person again, haha!!

Sunday afternoon we has a really crazy experience...i still don't know if it was real life or not...but ya..it was crazy! so we tried stopping by a less active that we didn't know..when we got to the door, a little Hispanic lady opened the door and asked if we were from the church....we said yes and asked if JEM was home....in her broken English she said that was her daughter...and welcomed us in.  As we got talking, come to find out that JEM had no idea who we were and said that she has not been a part of our church...and we were like, are you sure cause we have your records.....she then talked about how her husband is a pastor of another church and he had talked to the leaders of our church to put her on the list.....and in my head I was like " lady it doesn't really work like that.." next thing I know we are singing a song and they are giving us tacos. as I type this it totally sounds like not real life, but it totally was, and I don't know what to think about it!! it was so crazy and weird!!

well, thats my life this week!! hope yall have a great week!

Week 36 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Family and Friends!!

Its been a good week here! Man, I just love missionary work! This week I've been able to see how the gospel has changed people's lives. I'm so grateful that I've gotten to be able to help others come to know Christ better.  On Sunday we had a lesson with our recent convert, sister K, and her daughter, B.  We have started to teach her and its really awesome! We went over the restoration and as sister pead talked about joseph smith it was like a spirit bomb had went off. I think it’s so awesome that no matter how many times I've taught the restoration or heard the story, it totally still brings the spirit so strong and reaffirms my testimony...I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet!  B also totally said the closing prayer and that was awesome!

it’s been a crazy week! So here is the story! On Monday, me and sister pead went to target to get food for the week and also got apples for our breakfast and an onion.  Later while we were putting our food and sister pead found an empty cupboard and put our apples and the onion inside.....while, in the morning I was so excited to have an apple...when I opened the cupboard, there was onion crap EVERYWHERE!!  It was crazy! I picked up the net of apples and noticed that there were bits out of all the apples!! As I took a closer look in the cupboard, there was real CRAP everywhere...yep yall guessed it!! We totally have a mouse in our kitchen!! It made me so mad!! so, we put our shoes on and went to the store and bought a mouse trap!! We put peanut butter on it and guess what! Within 20 minutes we caught a mouse!! It was pretty big, but its whatever! I thought maybe there was another one, and we set another trap..and what do you know! we caught another one!! totally we have caught 4 of them!! I personally think that I've had the most successful "hunting" season out of my family, but I could be a little bias.

We had our last district meeting this week.....it was really sad cause I loved my district, we have had a lot of fun together....but its whatever....I don't remember if I wrote this already or not, but this transfer I've been the district piano player!! it’s been hard, but in all honest I've seen miracles as I've sat behind the keys.....heavenly father has totally blessed my figures and I've played alright!

Well, I have to go, thanks for all the love and support!

just fyi!! today is transfers and I don't really know what is happening, so I will let everyone know what is up next week!!

Week 35 Prior Lake, Minnesota

Family and Friends!

You know it’s cool when you have to crack out your leggings! ask me if I’m happy about this.....NO! this is not okay, I can only stand it because of the colors changing! With all the trees that there is in Minnesota, the fall is AWESOME! but it’s also the beginning of the winter :( the only thing that keeps me going in the coldness is the thought 4 more months......but on the other hand it makes me cry....I just cannot win!

Can I just say how much I LOVE conference weekend! it was fabulous! the spirit was so strong and the talks were so great! I cannot wait for my conference ensign so I can study the crap out of them! Ya, I’m kinda old school I like to read them...don't judge! I think that if I had to pick a favorite it would be elder Chirstoferson's talk on agency...I loved it! I’m so grateful for the gift to choose for myself what I want to do and how I want to worship and what I believe! it’s just over all the best...next to my family!

We watched conference at the church on Saturday...I sat next sister w our recent convert! she is so sweet..it was so cool to be there with her and to feel the spirit that comes with conference...she brought her baptism journal to take notes in! it was so cute! she is so sweet and just the best...last week she was very overwhelmed with everything, she felt so lost and just like she didn't understand what was going on....so I was a little nervous how she was doing to take conference, but she LOVED it!

Sunday was a different story...we were at members homes, and I got to hang out with the kids and do crafts...that was fun too! we watched the morning session with the cassells...sister cassell is making Halloween pillow cases..I got to help sew beads on....it was a lot of fun....for the afternoon session we were over at the moncurs...I played with scottie (the 6 year old who is my heigh!) we colored and braided sister peads hair. it was fun.

Last Monday we had zone pday. we met at the stake center and had lunch and played sports..  we started with basketball..but you see the elders get really into it and the sisters kinda just get in the way, so then we played volleyball, always a favorite! we split up in 4 teams and just went to town! my team and really good, but we have to be humble....so we did alright :) then it was time for kickball in the parking lot, no worries we were in the back lot were we DIDN"T park....however there was a car back there...but it was safe :) for the most part......

it was a lot of fun to be with everyone and to get to know the missionaries in our zone better. there are some really funny kids! it was good.

When it comes to teaching this week, it was alright...kind of a slow week with not much new news. our finding needs help and not gunna lie, I don't know what to do. I have been studying and nothing new has come to mind...and its been a struggle working with our leaders, who may  or maynot be very number minded...which really bugs me but what can you do...just pray and hope for the best, that my idea :)

We did a little shopping this morning and I found a really cute jacket! I was really excited about it. I will send a picture :)

My companion has been sick, and so on Saturday before conference we had to hit up the doctor...she walks out into the lobby to meet me and says " I have ebola!" it was really funny but not at the same time...she had a mask on and everything! I laughed out loud and I’m not sure if everyone there liked that, but it was really funny!

That’s pretty much my life, thanks for all the love and support! Hope yall have a great week!
